Our Services

At Saugatuck Charters, we keep it simple….you tell us what you would like to do and we will do our best to make it happen. We will provide the boat, plenty of gas and a Captain who is familiar with the local waters to make your day on the water as enjoyable and fun as possible.

Some of our most popular charter ideas include the following (See below for more details on each option):

1) Visit the Norwalk Islands

2) Sunset Cruises

3) Cruise CT Coastline and Visit Local Harbors

4) On the Water Fun

5) Fishing

6) Shellfishing

7) Special Events

Sunset Cruises

Leave in the early evening while the sun is still out, cruise slowly along the Saugatuck River, Norwalk Islands and LI Sound coastline and observe the beautiful sunsets from the water. Watch the birds flying to the various Norwalk Islands to sleep for the night and observe some of the amazing colors which often paint the skies.

Visit the Norwalk Islands

We can cruise around the Norwalk Islands, look for local wildlife, pass by historical light houses or drop anchor and take a dip in the Long Island Sound.

Cockenoe Island (visible from Compo Beach) is one of our favorite destinations. We can pull into the protected bay where we can drop anchor, relax and swim to shore to do some exploring on this uninhabited strip of sand and scrub, the site of successful nesting colonies of egrets, herons, terns, and cormorants.

Fishing

While we do not specialize in fishing, we are fully equipped to get you on the water to drop in some lines and see what happens. We can provide a variety of fishing poles, bait and basic knowledge to help you fish with your young ones or put on the big hooks and go fishing with your friends.

Fishing permits will need to be acquired online prior to cruise for anyone 16 and over at the following website:

https://portal.ct.gov/DEEP/Fishing/General-Information/Fisheries-Licenses-and-Permits

Special Events

1) Local Fireworks Shows on the Water (Westport, Norwalk, Fairfield, etc.)

2) Cruise to and around New York City (Full Day)

3) Travel to/from local restaurants, harbors, destinations, etc.

4) Participate in the “Greatest Bluefish Tournament on Earth” (Heaviest Bluefish wins $25,000)

Cruise CT Coastline and Visit Local Harbors

We can cruise along the CT coastline, and pull into various local harbors (Stamford, Rowayton, South Norwalk, Southport, etc.) to see local sites, light houses and architecture.

Shellfishing

If a hook and line isn’t your thing, we can visit some of the local islands to work on your skills looking for a variety of different shellfish (clams, mussels, etc.)

Shellfishing permits will need to be acquired prior to cruise for anyone 17 & over. Information can be found at the following website:

On the water……FUN

At the end of the day, we just want you to enjoy your day. The boat can be prepared with a variety of floats and boating accessories for your use and enjoyment, such as tubes, inflatable paddle board, rafts, etc.
